Romania Day 3
Hello everyone...just wanted to take the time to update you on our trip since we are just about to go to camp and probably won't have access to Internet. Everything went smooth with our flight except for a few minor complications...too boring to write about! After a long plane ride we arrived in Romania at 1:20 p.m. local time (3:20 a.m. back home). We were greeted by Manu (one of the students we met in 2002), his father, and Emi the youth pastor. We found out really quick that it is hot in Romania! We then took two separate cars and drove to the church we are working with in Resita. They fed us our first meal...pizza! We hung out at the church for a little bit then each of us went to our host homes. We have four of them...two people at each home. This is where we found out that they turned off the water in the entire city of Resita to do some repairs. We were supposed to have water at 10:00 p.m. but that didn't happen. However, we did have water this morning. Last night Cory and I with Manu went to visit one of the other host homes. This home is where Ruthie Marisescu lives...another student we met in 2002. We had a great time playing games and chatting. So, this morning 4 members of our team got a chance to go to camp already...the other 4 of us are still waiting for rides. We are excited about what God has in store for us at camp. I will try and update this as much as possible but it might not be until after camp! Thank you for your prayers!!!!

Commissioning Service

This Saturday we are having our Commissioning Service for our Romania trip at 6:00 p.m. at 43437 Gadsden Ave in Lancaster. I wanted to share a little excerpt of what we will be doing that night. This briefly talks about why we are going to Romania one week from today!
As we get started I wanted you to know that you are not here tonight by accident. This trip started 8 years ago when Pastor Dudley Rutherford challenged the entire church to go on a Mission trip...even to a foreign country. So in the summer of 2002 I had the privilege of spending 3 weeks in Romania with the Schintee family...a family that will forever be near to my heart. One week we spent with their family, just getting to know the Romanian people. Another week we toured the country, seeing some of the most beautiful castles and monasteries in the world. But the third week we were able to work at a camp for Middle School students and we met the most incredible kids you will ever meet! And it was the people we met that made this trip so special.
So in the end of 2007 as we were beginning to plant this church in Lancaster, we had a dream to go back to Romania by the summer of 2010. By then our church and our youth group would be established and we would be ready for a major trip like this!
But then something bad happened...
Well, that's all you are getting for now! :-) Please come to the Commissioning Service this Saturday to hear the rest of the story. I promise you will be blessed if you come! We will be worshipping God in TWO languages!

Romania July 21-August 4, 2010
This blog was sort of created by accident. I am not a writer, but I wanted a way to keep in touch with our friends and family in America while we are in Romania this summer. We leave in just 18 days for a journey that will bring us closer to our Lord Jesus and to fellow Christians living 6,000 miles away. There are some incredible things planned and I know God has so much in store. All of this for His glory!
In a few days I will post more about how this trip came to be. If you would like to follow our trip while we are in Romania check back often. Not sure what our Internet access will be while at the camp, but we will try and post as often as possible. We will also be posting pictures on my Facebook page.... www.facebook.com/robert.norris
Draga prietenii mei în România....abia aștept să vă văd vara asta. Dumnezeu e așa de bun! O să plecăm în optsprezece de zile. Apoi Îl vom lauda pe Domnul nostru impreuna!
